I love your garden Tropical Gaz, it looks amazing. We're trying to make a cottage garden, still only on the second year and it looks a bit overgrown, but I'm pleased with progress so far. :thumb:

I'm dead jealous Gaz having lived in Luton and the surrounding area for years ... it's scrumptious .... I can't even compare to here now because of our heat ... 33c today.

Will, yours is also wonderful and so quintessentially British.

Love both gardens although completely different. Well done to you both.

Thanks, no we built about 3 years ago, its a high spec house in an old design, and thanks for your comments Victoria, and youngdaisydee, yes that is Verbena. :thumb:

Tropical Gaz your garden looks like its in the rain forest, do you have to cover much of it up in the winter or is global warming helping?

The red Dahlia is Bishop of Llandaff, the white one is After Eight. The light green tree in the third is an Indian Bean Tree (Catalpa bignonioides), and has been faily slow growing for us. That was planted July 2005 and hasnt grown much.

Victoria, Im very close to Leagrave Train Station, so wouldnt have been far at all.

Will, many of the plants are tougher than they look, lots of plants are used that are hardy but have the right look (eg big leafed hosta's) but some do get a shelter for winter, and others are only outside in pots.
