i played the guitar ,and did the leading vocals .money was good but the travel was horrendous. retired from the circuits a few years now .i started to give guitar lessons to some of the
youngsters in the area ,and have regular sessions every week with them.i now have two grand daughters ,into singing/dancing,and they have won several awards for there efforts. this now my main
hobby. to have a bit of relaxation, i do (gardening).:yho: music .

:) Well, hi there country and western guy ...

I'm a country and western gal who lived in northern Alabama for 14 years and my American t'other half was well into the music industry (managing a music shop and working the big shows coming in) ... met most stars of the late 60s through the 70s ... but not my two favourites ... Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton ...

    Welcome to the forum ...

you are reffering to the king and queen of country/ western.they dont make them like this anymore.we now live in the age of (ONE HIT WONDERS!!!).
make a phone call, and you are a number one!!
and what happens when they win ,most of them drift into the sunset, often never heard of again. (BRING BACK THE OLDIES!!!).
toured NEWPORT NEWS ,,BALTIMORE , and various other places
in my gigs ,enjoyed it all .found it a different world. MUSIC.

    Hi again music ....

... the best of them together, which holds very special memories for me ...

Yes, it's true they don't make them like that anymore. However, I have a lot of time for Alan Jackson ... have a fantastic double CD by him and just love Little Bitty (drives t'other half mad because I can't stand still :hehe:). Another good one is NZ/Australian Keith Urban ... ace! Shawn Mullins is good too.

Quite the opposite, I like Alternative Rock especially Matchbox Twenty (also Rob Thomas solo) and 3 Doors Down. There is some other good music out there. :)

I used to like Garth Brooks but he just packed it in and you cant find any of his stuff around much now.

    Nothing on U tube.

Liked the mavericks as well Raul Marlo seems to be able to sing anything and make it sound different.

    Hi Pete ...

I remember us talking about Garth a couple of years ago ... sometimes I can't see YouTubes you guys put up because they are not licensed for Portugal ... I can't even see what the song is, just says I'm not licensed ot see it . I can get lots of Garth ... can you see this? ...

Can't remember which ones we said we liked way back then ...

Oooh, forgot how much I liked him ... just bought his Ultimate Hits 3-CD set for £6.77 (incl postage) ... if you want a copy, let me know.

hi Victoria. no sorry, i have not seen the movie,
The Patsy Cline Story. i will try and look it up on DVD.i like true storys, not the painted up,glossy things we get on TV now.
you watch a movie, then think ,how much of that was HOGWASH!!. i think the TV movies ,start true. middle true. the end true, and all the rest in between is make believe.i read a lot of autobiographies, and when we see some of the movies ,they are sparse with the truth. thanks again. music.
