just bought some cheap plants

    just bought a tray of ivy and primroses for 50p each from B&Q Do you think it will be ok to put them out ..I have them in the garage at the moment..will put the ivy in my hanging baskets..with th primroses.if its not to cold for them..??

    the O/H says that she wouldnt put them out when its frosty as they have been indoors and will need to harden off, [​IMG]

    If you got them from the outside bit at B+Q, as is usually the case, so long as the ground isn't frozen, they'll be fine - they're hardy. likewise ok for hanging baskets.

    No Problem ,Just make sure you really firm them in.As den says they are usually kept outside ,and place some mulch round them.

    You cannot be sure about the hardiness of the primroses. How advanced are they in terms of flowering? Quite a few of the new ones that have been developed are not really that hardy. If they are still not showing buds then there is a good chance they are a hardy variety.
