Kalanchoe x houghtonii

    Super easy but it's one of my favourites.

    Propogation is either by cutting the stem into 5cm segments and laying on compost or via the plantlets that form on the leaves................

    Either collect them or let them drop...................

    If you look closely at the photo above you can see that the cluster of mature stems on the right are segment propagations, on the left they were plantlets placed on the soil. It shows no real difference in speed of growth between the two methods.

    If mature plants are kept in a cool frost free greenhouse over the winter they make a useful late spring/early summer flowering plant for the borders and beds...............
