Seems like you've got the hang of it already K.
I've not yet mastered close ups.

Excellent, Kandy, how do you get the butterflies to stay so still? Mine seem to flap non-stop.

strongy, I've not got the hang of closeups either, but I'm using an old Kodak DC4800 3.1, which I plan on sticking with as I like the solidity of it, although t'other half recently bought a 6.1.

Sorry,I nearly missed these replies.Strongy,I have always had a natural good eye for taking photo's,my family call me Davinia Bailey, like all these wonderful artist's on here that can paint such beautiful pictures I do it with a camera. [IMG]

LoL,It has taken me two days of sitting in the garden inbetween sleeping and feeling yuk to get the Brimstone to sit long enough for the photo. He settled underneath the leaf and with the wind blowing the leaf about I had lots of goes, and he kept fluttering off, luckily I have found with Butterflies and Bees they will often come back to the same flower or leaf,so when he did I gently lifted the leaf to get the first photo,he then flew over to my Budleja and I was lucky at the 2nd attempt to get him feeding. With my other camera I can't get the tongue or antenna to show up as the camera is only 3X mega pixels. This one is 7X mega pixels and the Macro goes down to 1cm{0.4in}

Dizi,The camera you use is very good and you have taken some fantastic photo's with yours. My Kodak EasyShare is 18 months old and I wanted one that I could get more detail with. This one is a Finepix S5700 7.1 Mega Pixels [IMG]

Brilliant photos. I can't get closer than 6 inches with my camera. It is now five years old but I'm not going to pension it off as I know the feeling [IMG] :D :D .

Brilliant shots Kandy! I agree with woo that you won't need any practice, you only need to get used to get the feel of the new camera.

I love the butterflies. I wish I could get lucky and catch some. Well, I did get that kitten moth last month but only because it was still asleep. I got another moth (I think) yesterday, got top and underside shots, but I found it dead on the patio and put it on a leaf to photograph. It'll be in Whats buzzing....... in a while.

Keep up the good work Kandy and looking forward to seeing some more. Hope you are feeling better today. xx
