I thought you might like to see another part of the town where I was brought up.The first area of water is where I learnt to row a boat and the second larger lake is where we progressed to once we had mastered keeping the oars in the oar locks and from sinking any of the other boats. Then there is the parkland that goes with it all.Enjoy.....

Hey Kandy! Looks like you had a fantastic walk. Your pics are a great visual journal for us!

You've taken some stunners today. The close ups of the mallard are fab - you can really see the colours so well. I love the single pigeon in the streamlet, my first duckling of 2008, the happy dog and the extremely rare sighting (for me anyway) of what looks like a Mistle Thrush - but could be a song thrush, can never tell the difference really!

    Thanks Kandy [IMG] Lovely!

PS The texture of the water rippling on the Canada goose pic is really well captured. Stunning.

Hi Cookie,Thankyou for your kind words. [IMG] There are some more duckling photos but because they were swimming so fast I could get a good photo of them

I had to sneak up on the mallard hiding behind a lifebouy to capture him :D I am really annoyed though because I have a good photo of a Coot diving but forgto to upload it.It is before the photo where all you can see is the upturned rear end.If I try and slot it in I am going to get in a right pickle.

Yes it is a Mistle Thrush, but it was the best I could do because as I sneaked up on it,it kept hopping away then flew into a tree to join it's mate.

I also like the dog shaking off the water and my favourite is the Canada Goose, fantastic shot as you say

Hi everyone thank you for your comments, much appreciated. [IMG]

Rosa,I thought it was brilliant as well.We had alraedy walked past the couple when we heard a splash and saw the dog so we got the good photos of the water flying off the dog.

Pal,I didn't realise until he went past on the bike that it was a punk bike with all studs sticking out of the frames. There were two of them but this one was the best. The bikes looked brand new but rather small choppers for the riders :D
