I'll start off with some views of our pond. Some of them are probably too light, I guess I should have altered something on the camera.

    Looking good, K-G! :D

I particularly love the pond photos - it looks so natural and peaceful. It looks like you have quite a lot of space - is that the case?

    Thanks dendy.

Our plot is 977 square meters but we have a very long driveway, a large parking area, a shed and then the house and the Wintergarten taking up quite some space. But we still have a good-size garden. I guess if you chopped the driveway off then the rest of the plot might be about 30 x 30 meters.

Lovely photos K-G.They are all so fatastic, love your Pond,Ferns,Azaleas,Clematis Pelargoniums,in fact the whole lot.We wish at times we had a bigger garden than we have, but we couldn't be choosy at the time, though we are packing more into ours and the lawn is getting smaller as it shrinks in the dry weather.Well done to you [IMG] [IMG]

It's just so colourful and lush looking, Sis. What are those fluffy white things by the pond?

I've got three of Hr O's Pretty in Purple germinated ... that or they are weeds! :D

Regarding the Pelargonium, is it one of the giants I have on the lane under the almond tree? If so, I don't know as they were growing wild on the lane when we bought and I just appropriated some cuttings. A good job too as when we got the mains water, the JCBs removed the originals! The peach one didn't survive, just the shocking pink.

That reminds me, I must take a picture of that one up the road nearly as tall as a lightpost!

The fluffy white things are cotton grass, and they come back every year and bloom for over a month!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cotton-grass

Click on the German version to see a close-up of them.

I took pics of the Pretty in Purple today too but am waiting for them to open before I post the lot of them together. I'll e them to you though so you can see if yours are "it" or weeds.

Re the pelargoniums, I'm not sure but Hubby thinks they are the same.

Hi K G, your exotic weed looks very much like Arum Maculatum, or Cuckoo Pint, AKA Lords and Ladies, Monks Pintle, Calves foot, Starchwort, Ramp or Wake robin.
The leaves on yours do look a bit different from the ones which grow wild in UK, so it may be a close cousin.
I think it may be poisonous, not certain though.
Has tuberous roots about 1'(30cm) below the surfce

    Cheers MIKE
