    Hello all!
I've followed this site for a while a decided to join having laughed with you, felt your pain and joy.
I recognise many 'faces' from the BBC Gardening board and, oddly, Digital Spy.

I garden in Kent, have three small garden areas. Front is triangular and is entirely cottage style with some lawn, approx 30 ' wide and deep but tapering.

It contains the usual suspects, alchemellia molls, Delphs, foxgloves, lupins, japanese anemone (grrrr), acanthus, phlox, various allium, hostas, heuchera, spring bulbs and lots more - far too crowded but I love it. Two years ago I added a tree peony as the traditional types just won't grow here - this year I've three huge blooms. Hurrah!

Second area is a patin that faces west and is a complete sun trap.
Here I have about 40 pots that contain some perennials such as roses, romneya, herbs, hostas, an olive tree, trachelospermum jasminoidies, etc. Plus many that rotate spring bulbs (triple planted usually) that then are home to species glads, dahlias, wild daisies, sweet peas, morning glory, tuberose and any other fragrant insect friendly stuff I fancy.
This area also is home to tomato and cucumber plants in the summer as the house relicts heat.

Lastly I have a rear garden that is offset from the house and provides a more mature shrub bed area with a small cutting bed. I have two veg beds, an apple tree, pear tree, two stands of rhubarb, too many raspberry canes and strawberry plants.
The veg beds tends to be spuds one side and the other runner beans, beetroot, carrot (when I can get any by the slugs), peas, onions, garlic, spring onions, radish and mooli, lettuce and parsnip. Later the spuds are followed by kale and sprouts.

This area has my climbing roses and dahlia cross tests too.

Sounds a lot but I've no greenhouse so make do with window sills.
I work miles from home so only get a few hours a week to tend, rain permitting.

I've been gardening for about 20 years and am so far from being expert at anything but adore every minute of it. Hope I can learn lots here and maybe add something now and again too.

    So that's me. Hello all!

    Thanks for the welcome both.
No Ziggy, I didn't but I've been lurking here for ages so it may have gone over my head TBH.
Looking forward to being part of the gang.

          Hi Auntiemand.
I seem to disagree with you on a couple of points.
          • I like my Japanese Anemones
          • I hate - with a passion - Alchamilla Mollis (Lady's Mantle)
But hey, that's what gardening's all about.
Hopefully you will give a bit of your own experience as you go along - and banter with the rest of us.:dbgrtmb:
          Come in and play.

Hello Auntiemand - DS is one of my other haunts :) I don't recognise your username from DS, or is it different over there?

I've only been here a few days myself, and I absolutely love it - most friendly and helpful forum I have come across, bar none!
