Swimming is my other hobby, I go 3 times a week and swim a mile each time. Also have done scuba diving and love snorkeling, known as the gardening mermaid! Red sea if favourite place, Sharme El Sheikh, will be there 3rd time at the end of May.

Hi, TO. I'm not a swimmer as such, can swim pretty well but don't like diving.

Funnily enough since I moved here I don't bother with such at all.

It's interesting you say about the Red Sea because I know someone there who teaches Scuba Diving and Snorkling!

You sound like you've got a really lovely garden and hope we'll see lots of pictures come up.

I love swimming and snorkling but only in very warm sea (as in Northern Cyrus last august). Otherwise it's the Gym twice a week. [IMG]

The only excersize I do is pressing weights three times a week. I got pretty big a few years ago, but got a hernia! I've not long started again and it is progressing nicely. Be able to ware sleveless T-shirts again and get the odd wolf whistle from the ladies as before, I hope.

I love swimming and have done my mile and love diving but not off the high board because I don't like heights and I just love swimming under water :D

We used to have a lady called Mrs Howard to teach us to swim. She was all dressed in white and was to us like someone out of one of those mental Hospitals at the time.

She used to shout at the top of her voice instructions on how to get the strokes right. Our teeth would chatter, not from the cold water but with fright at her bellowing at us,but it worked because we all soon learnt to swim just to get away from that swimming pool onto the big one in another area of the town.Happy days

Cycling, Sunday afternoons and Tuesdays with the Cyclists Touring Club (Cambridge D.A.). I've cycled over 28,000 miles since Christmas 1997. Slowing up a bit now (78).

I take a pony out for a walk most days, this morning a jogger gave us a wide berth, saying "Thats a big dog".

Swimming! I used to bunk off games lessons at School,so when I left I couldn't swim a stroke.
Then many years later, I attempted to teach myself.
The most I accomplished was a very clumsy breast stroke. But I managed to do 12 lengths with this and then felt I'd done what I set out to do.
I like to think that if I ever fell overboard, I could swim back to the boat!
