    Hi all,

Over my allotment earlier today, and was 'trying' to turn some soil over and my spade suddenly just snapped, surprised at the bang it made when it snapped.

I'd have expected better from what I thought was a decent spade with a 15 year guarantee. 20190226_145627.jpg

I've tried calling K&S but keeps cutting me short with a voice message, and I've also tweeted about the snap as well, so far, I'm not impressed with their customer care, but I'll give it until end of day tomorrow for them to get back to me.

I wouldn't mind but I was only turning over moist soil :)

Never seen anything like that before.
Surely it must have had a defect in the manufacture, usually the handle goes before something like that happens.

Yes, tried that and then was given a number (which isn't shown on K&S's website) to phone, which is the number that doesn't answer.

            Pete,

Looking at the profile of the crack, it appears that the metal is duller were you would push your foot down, and a hairline crack must have been formed at that point, it really did go, lucky in a way that no pieces flew off and got me in the eye to be honest.

Good lord! That's definitely a defect in the manufacture.

Unusual that they haven't responded quicker to a tweet. That normally gets company jumping.

Thank goodness as that was definitely a faulty one I would have said and like Pete never seen one go like that before, but there must have been tension there if it went bang when it snapped.. Thank goodness no injuries..! :yikes:
