Took a trip out today as I had not been to Kew for about four years.
Its suprising that really not much changes, but its still impressive.

    The Temperate House.

And a couple of views inside.

they have some pretty impressive tropical tree ferns, this is in the palm house, the best is you can climb up into the roof and see them from above.
The pictures dont give a true impression of the size.

Just this year they have built a walkway through the treetops.
It sways slightly which can be a bit worrying, but I'm guessing its suposed to do that.
Its 60ft above the ground, but it feels much higher.

One of my favourite places, the arid displays in the "Princess of Wales Conservatory"

    Obviously this one is outside.

Then it moves through to the damp tropics.

I think it is amazing the diligence and sometimes plain bravery the people who collected the specimens showed in the days when it wasn`t a simple task of putting it on a plane.

The place is a triumph, I went once when I was a little girl and never forgot it.

The walkway looks impressive Pete, there was a trial temporary one when we went four years ago, it wasn't as high as this one. There is always something of interest to see there.:)

Noce photos pete, I wasn't too keen on the walkway, I don't like heights so it was a case of just get around as quick as poss then down, so didn't really see much when I went up ther, did you remember to duck when the planes came over?

    I didn't know that strongy.

I saw some older people struggling with all the steps.
They do have a lift for disabled, but maybe it wasn't working, or perhaps they were too proud to ask.

It funny how high 60ft can seem when your up there JKW.
