It was 100 miles drive each way and poured with rain all afternoon but it was worth it.

Its a fantastic place Rich, I think its my favourite, not a great place to get at, involves too much M25 for me. :D

That does it :D I have never visited Kew, been promising to do so - but my dislike of London always puts me off. However that will now not be enough - wonderful pictures Rich

Pictures can't do justice to the place, especially the palm house. It is impossible to get the size of the trees across in pictures.

Nevertheless I tried and the photos are at Kew Photos

I had the chance to go to Kew on a visit to London a few weeks ago it's just a fabulous place to visit and we were lucky that the weather was good.
I agree with Rich and the grounds are fabulous too , much larger than I expected.

Fran, when your in Kew you will forget about London (except possibly for the planes overhead going to Heathrow) that's the only thing that spoilt it. If it was quiet it would just be a haven amongst the rush. We went using the underground, it was very handy and short walk from the station.

Here are few extra images to tempt you

Did anyone else see the Dale Chihuly exhibition at Kew?
Kew is always great but with the added glass it was wonderful.
