Hi, I'm new here and new to gardening but i have a major problem that i hope someone on here can help me recitfy
The problem is a vine that i cannot get rid of, it keeps sprouting every year trying to kill my lovely plants. Here is a photo

I have tried digging up the roots and clearing the lot but then a couple days later its sprouted in loads of different other places, so again i dig it up trying to get the roots but i seem to be losing the battle
It wraps itself around a bamboo i have dragging it to the ground, also a lemon balm, a couple of rose bushes and anything it can reach.
If anyone knows what vine this is or how i can get rid of it i will be forever thankful
    Dave

Dave, it's bindweed and it's a real b****r to get rid of. Do a search on these forums for bindweed to see the extent of other's problems. I've had a veg plot in same position for 23 years and never got rid of it, just keeps popping out the ground in the greenhouse, amongts the beds. Trouble is those creeping roots which can come from 8 yeards away, so if its in the hedgerow or in your neighbours garden it can run across and sprout up anywhere. I just keep pulling it up whenever it starts to appear, also try and dig out as many roots as possible when preparing bed, but like I say, I've still got it after all these years.

We had a lot in the garden when we move in. Constant pulling, and digging it up is the key. Each little bit of root left in the ground can produce a new plant. We hav it under control now, with much smaller and weeker plants.

Roundup works well on it where you can avoid getting it on other plants.
