Is it possible to compost kitchen roll please? I was told some while ago not to flush it down the toilet as it doesn't break down like toilet tissue, so I'm wondering if there's some content that will stop it from composting.

I put it in my compost. On the rare occasions when we have fish and chips at home the chip papers go in too. It all goes.

We've been putting it into our dalek worm bins for years and it decomposes without any problem. We also add the cardboard tubes. It would do the same in an ordinary compost heap.

When I have a cold all used tissues go in the compost bin. This includes kitchen towel.

Really? I assumed that sort of paper was too waxy to go in. The same with those brown paper bags that you buy fresh veg in from the market.

Its paper shape and colour when it goes in, and compost shape and colour when it comes out. Not sure what happens to it in between but my bin is like its own little world. All sorts live in there, including, as I discovered the other day, at least one mouse.

I find kitchen roll starts to decompose the moment it gets wet.(much faster than I would like).
How that bloke in the ad manages to wring it out is beyond me.:dunno:
