Kiwi issai

    Hi all
    managed to get 2 kiwi variety , one is an issai and the other a female kiwi berry

    any idea of how big will it get and will I ever eat any kiwi?

    looks very different to our Kiwi - but I don't know what variety ours is it came from Aldi

    I had one at my last place that covered a trellis, it had a few small fruits on it.

    I think you are better off with a Male/Female pair, that's what the commercial boys grow (they have more than one Male variety to ensure pollen available at flowering time, although they also freeze pollen from previous years in case none available when the females flower).

    I believe the self fertile one ("Jenny" I think?) is hardier, but doesn't crop as well, but the separate Male/Female ones are likely to need greenhouse / protection.

    Something I've been meaning to grow [in greenhouse] for years

    This variety it`s actually the original kiwi berry where the commercial Kiwi was originate from
    it`s original from russia e Japan apparently can take loads of frost and cold , sold with a cold hardy to -28c , so it`s not the hardiness the problem , but the position of where to plant it ......how big will it get?
    I `ve got a self pollinate variety (not the jenny) and a male

    I think it needs full sun to ripen?
