The knife Angel sculpture is currently being displayed in our area and I'm afraid I'm undecided with it. I completely understand the artistic effort that has been put in to create it but it just seems so cold.

The knives have been collected from knife banks set up to allow people to dispose of knives during amnesties; the idea being to try and reduce the number of stabbings etc.
The sculpture was then made from the collected knives. See here for details National Monument Against Violence & Aggression
I saw a similar thing in the British Museum a decade or so see here Throne of Weapons - Wikipedia

I've heard of this and I understand what it's meant to be, but now that I've seen a photo of it I think it looks sinister and it gives me the creeps ...

There must be lots of knife out there as there is still lots of stabbing in our area

It's very cleverly done, but not really sure what it achieves as a symbol.

I'm definitely not a fan. Ironically enough, looks a lot like the sort of thug that would carry a knife to me if I ignore the wings! :dunno:

If they had made a more relatable figure from the same material it would be far more powerful IMO, like a statue of a crying mother who had lost her son to knife crime.
