Now the dark evenings are drawing in, I have been looking into my wool stash and scrutinising my pattern books. This is a little item I made last winter...

I have just sent off for some yarn and am planning many cosy evening creating new jumpers and cardis for me to wear.

I'm great at starting, but terrible at following through and finishing when the work gets plain (unless it's childrens clothes) I made a great pikachu (pokemon) jumper for my son years ago from a pattern I made myself from a picture of the character.
your cardie looks fab! I love stripes: patterns involving pictures, stripes or cabling are my favs - i just cant do 'plain'

I knitted My Little Pony for the Girls - Thomas the Tank for my son - but my proudest achievement was Scooby Doo for my son. He wore it non stop til he out grew it and I still keep it as a souvenir.:dh: That was back in the 80's - I don't think they appreciate home knitting now:(

I used to knit loads particularly when welping puppies. I have just put two of my hand knits into the bag to go to the charity shop, one a large baggy jumper, quite dramatic reds and blacks, and the other quirky number was a christmas Idea I had with "Twelve days of christmas" partridges, pear trees train sets etc with Fa la la la laa written all round the bottom. I have given all my Kaffe facet books away and knitting needles - the last two jumpers will be the next step to the end of my knitting career!

A new pattern book and necessary yarns have arrived, so I'm getting stuck in. I'll post a pic of my current project when I have time (and can find the pic). Knitting is quite therapuetic, I find, and has definitely lost the "granny" image, these days (check out Stitch 'n' Bitch).
