    Went to see my Chiropractor today and he came up with this stuff.

    Anyway to cut a short story even shorter, I now have two strips on my lower back.

    Has anyone else tried this stuff?
    Does it work, or is it just a load of old mumbo jumbo?

    I've been using it for about a month now for my dodgy back and shoulders. I'd never heard of it before my Physio put some on me. All I know it's very expensive and a b****r to get off if you've got a hairy back. I'm not yet convinced it's doing me any good.

      My friend went to an Holistic practice today with his dodgy back , to early to report yet. But I would like some more info on this tape ?

        I had this applied to my thigh a few weeks ago and it was explained to me as follows: The tape has a strong adhesive, it was applied tightly with the knee flexed then when the knee straightened it caused the skin to wrinkle allowing improved circulation in that area and thus helping healing, it also helped support the knee and reduce pressure within the joint.
        Did it help; I think so. I left it on until it pretty much fell off.

          The 'K' stands for Kinetic, I don't understand the 'science' behind it, further to Nigel's explanation I was told to apply it so it's under tension around my shoulder, the gentle tug it exerts is supposed to teach my muscles to pull in the correct direction. I'm not sure it's working but I can feel the gentle tug all the time. It will be a long term thing for me.

          Since finding out about it I've noticed Tennis players use it a lot, I'd noticed it in the past thinking it was a form of strapping to support pulled muscles, now I understand it's actually training the muscles back into position.

              Have you considered waxing the area first? :noidea:
              No, wait: the tape is already doing that for you :heehee:

              Try shaving the area before putting the tape on :blue thumb:

                Not sure what waxing does, would it prevent the tape from sticking? Anyway the tape was applied before I even knew what was going on.

                Yes the Tape has done it's work already, which would be OK if my helper could apply each new tape exactly in the same position. Too much faff to shave.

                Was told that a hairdryer would help as it melts the glue, tried that and it just prolonged the agony.

                  @JWK "waxing" is a hair removal method.
                  A wax coated strip is warmed and pressed against the area of hair you want removing. After a few moments, it is removed, very quickly (!) thus ripping out the hair from the follicle removing the hair :) But no, it wouldn't prevent your tape from sticking.
                  It is a modern trend in men to have their backs and nether-regions waxed and is commonly known as a "back, crack and sack" :whistle: :heehee:

                    Some people have too much time and money on their hands, they should get out more into the garden. A hairy back makes for great insulation from them arctic winds :dbgrtmb:

                      Mine has started to peel off low down, near my bum.

                      Its also getting itchy, so dont think its going to last much longer.

                      Cant think that it is doing much as apart from the itch, I dont know its there, cant feel any pulling etc.
                      My legs were aching like crazy this afternoon, so am I expecting too much too soon?
