A few weeks ago I received and started off some Lachenalia seed. All bar one of the fifteen seeds has germinated.

And L.aloides (believe me, there is 4).................

Lachenalia are winter blooming bulbs from South Africa, so technically it is the wrong time of year to start these seeds, but I'm fairly confident that I can keep them cool enough this summer to keep them growing. Freshness seems to be the key which is why I've taken the punt.

I've also just ordered two packets of seed for L.viridiflora................

For anyone interested all the seed came from Scampton Succulents.

In theory they should take two seasons. However, as I'm doing it the hard way there's a chance that they may bloom in less time. Reason being that I'm squeezing two seasons into twelve months hopefully.

BTW: pm me your address re the Dendrobium kingianum please.
