Hi folks, I joined the Forum this week having a keen interest in gardening. I have been away abroad living on a sailing boat, returning to the family home after 5years, where the garden had been left to it's own devices, apart from the lawns mowed etc.! 18months on it is improving.
I love wildlife. I am a keen 'pot' gardener and have a small 'thruppenybit' greenhouse, and a forest boundary of old trees
The responses I have had so far on the forum makes me feel very welcome here. thanks, Jan

Thank you all so VERY much, I know that I can learn an awful lot from you all, and I hope to 'talk' to you all more closely in the near future. I am profoundly deaf, this conversation is SO important to me, because I don't miss anything that is said! Cheers folks, you are great! Jan

Hi there and thank you for the warm welcome. You do jest about summer!
It has rained all day here today. I suppose there is a bonus that I didn't have to water the runner beans, feeling a bit lethargic and not a lot of activity.
Wouldn't it be just perfect to have the rain every night in the summer, with warm sunny days? Well, I can dream can't I ? ( I am old enough to remember a few summers like that, or am I just remembering the good bits? cheers Jan
