By the construction already, I guess the sides will just be open? When I worked for the diamond mine in Guinea, West Africa (I was based in Bucks but visited the mine) they were called a Baffa there but had meter-high clay walls set a meter or so within the outreach of the thatch to keep the torrential rains out. They are used for community meetings and gatherings, are always round and huge.

Our outdoor living room here, which we call The Baffa, has meter-high clay and stone walls and is about 20 square meters (it was originally the chicken pen) ... we would have liked to thatch the top but put a deck up on top instead. :yho:

There is a place here that sells those like yours but I don't know what they call them.
