Something I have been meaning to do for a while is to connect my 19" HP monitor to my laptop.
As I do a fair bit of photo and video editing a decent 19" is ideal.
After much searching I manage to get a cable to connect HDMI on the laptop to the DVI input on the monitor.
    Works a treat.

    one suggestion Robert -
to use a laptop cushion under the laptop reason being that otherwise the laptop heats up too much and the inside fan cannot cope and the battery life will be much shorter.

Too true! I have a neat little 'table' that sits the front edge of the lappy on the table which is just right. Plus is has three little fans which are powered from a USB plug!

Sound advise indeed ... if you look carefully behind the chair against the wall you may spot one..
Complete with two USB powered fans.
I got it mainly for my Dell which does run hot but this Acer runs a lot cooler.
