Laser Cutting/Engraving - A versatile crafty hobby

    Hello fellow hobbyists,

    I recently bought myself a Laser Cutter/Engraver. It's proving to be a very useful tool especially if you are involved in arts and crafts. The model I bought is the Ortur Laser Master 3 and it has a 10w diode laser. I use it in my garage and I send my projects to it via WiFi. When cutting or engraving, it produces some smoke which is why it is used in the garage though enclosures can be bought or built that vent through a window. The working area is 400mm x 400mm and it can cut a wide variety of raw materials. I have used wood, EVA foam, card, paper, slate. I have still to try glass, ceramics etc.

    My first projects were simple coasters made from Cork, but more recently I have been using 3mm and 5mm plywood, card and paper. Below are a few photographs......
