What are the chances that we have seen the last of the frost for this year.
I grew LOADS from seed this year and they're all in my greenhouse at the mo.
Should I start to harden off?
    What's the best method?
    I was thinking:
Leave the greenhouse door open for 4 days (closing at night), then start to bring the plants out and leave out during the day and replace them of an evening (4 days)
Then for the last 4 days, leave them out all day and night (do I leave the plants out even when it's raining during these stages?)
Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice.

Bashy your right about hardening off, lots of good plants are ruined by not hardening off properly.
I find the longer the hardening process the better the plants take.

At least 2 weeks of acclimatisation to the outside is needed, better three, so start now when the weather allows.
Its when a cold frame comes in handy, as you can allow more ventillation each day.

Your regime sounds good to me but I would extend the last four days to at least a week.
But basically it all depends on the weather, rain is OK if warm but we could get hail, so you need to judge things as you go.

I can't put mind out yet.
The rain and hail as been so heavy it's smashing everything down.
    Then there's the frost.
Never sure until the end of May here in the Midlands.
    And the slugs.
    The birds.
    The cats
Some times I wonder why I bother LOL.

Technically Pete is I think right. He was always cautious. Jimbo's psychiatrist is of course also right. But half the fun of gardening is living dangerously.[IMG]
