Is it my imagination, or are the leaves staying longer on the trees this year? I took these today, two weeks to Christmas, the leaves are not green, but some of the oak trees haven't really lost any yet.

Nope its not you imagination - while some trees have lost all their leaves - the oaks and copper beech in my area are still holding their leaves, golden but in the main unfallen. I would have thought the cold snap followed by wind would have brought them down, but not so. Most others have got bare stems Hawthorne, sorbus, lilac, apple, prunus, horse chestnut, ash, witchhazel etc.

Climate and nature always a source of fascination :D

Have you seen the birch trees, when the sun shines. They are a bright yellow around here, and every leaf still in place.
