At the top of the forum. Why are the pictures in this random album showing those from someone who has made no posts whatsoever and by the looks of it, is here to advertise?

Doesn't seem appropriate or fair somehow...

Jings Sussexgardener, there are no albums at the top of my forum page.
Maybe it's all just down to our browsers.
I would just treat them like all other adverts - ignore them.

Well, being the type of person that I am, I have a screen shot of them, but due to photobucket changing how to copy images, I can't post it here! It's still there, but there is a hide button for those album pics (and others like it).

This where the pics have come from

    http://www.gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/album.php?albumid=142

As you can see, the album owner joined today, not posted but has taken the time to add an album of images. Hmmm.

Thanks Vicky, Pete. I would report them as spam, but no idea how to as they're not a post as such.

I'd like to know how they ended up there though. I assume the softwar randomly picks images from member albums, but surely this sort of thing should be spotted?

If you click on each pic to view it, you will see a "report" feature for each (I have reported all four). and the mods/admin can then act on it. Sometimes, mods/admin need a little help on these things and I dont think twice about dropping a pm one of them about things that need their attention (IMO of course).

As for the image thing, although I have not used it myself I would think its a "last uploaded" feature...and an ideal way for spammers to spam.

    Steve...:)

Thanks for pointing that out SussexG. I saw the pictures but just thought they were pretty odd and no more.

As an afterthought, having never user the album facility. Can we see other peoples albums or can we see only our own. I have never created an album, and so when I open the album page - it looks distinctly booring. :D

:) I think they are a waste of space, the most boring album pics.we have ever had.
I suppose though that by us discussing them they are having the desired effect....blast!!!!

Not from me though, even if I wanted that product..I would not buy from a company that thinks its okay to spam. So in that respect its a diservice to themselves.

Well the images have gone and the album no longer seems to exist so discussing it seems to have had the desired effect.

On this subject, while some of the pictures that appear in this album are good, others look a bit random and, dare I say it, boring. Example - at the moment I can see two pictures of Hec's tumble down wall from a few days ago. No offence to Hec, but they aren't the most exciting pictures ever! (sorry Hec).

Would it not be better to use some from the competition section or 'what looks good this month'? Those at least are posted with the specific intention of looking good and might enhance the forum further?

    What do you think?

    A vast improvement Marley!

But...could the software be changed to pick up images posted in the gallery sections of the forum instead, or is this not possible? If not I'll get using my albums more then!
