Why do the Christmas decorations have to stay up until the 6th, but Christmas is over.?

Because it is the Twelfth Day of Christmas. :xmasbells:

And I may keep my Poinsettia avatar up for some time as it is a bloom/bract from my TREE (3 meters tall) and blooms from November to March, more or less.

My first moan of the year. Why is it that I have never had a house that didn't have a neighbor who was so lazy, they stopped taking their Christmas lights down after the first couple of years...

There, now it feels like a new year

Ok thanks, but why do some people put them up on the 1st of December?

Your avatar is nice by the way, you're lucky to keep it going for so long.

I don't know why the 1st. It is normally the 6th, St Christopher's Day.

Thank you. Poinsettias are trees here. I've had mine perhaps 15 years now. Here it is early December 2018 just starting to bloom between the Jacaranda and Brugmansia (picture taken from up on the deck). We cut them down end of March to about 4 feet to rest and then grow and re-bloom in winter.

Thanks @Victoria at least i know now.
Over here poinsettias are just a Christmas plant, it's very difficult to grow them on so they just get thrown away, but yours look great.

Our decs will come down on Sunday, the last day of the Christmas break before hubby goes back to work on Monday. The annual Christmas tree collection is on Tuesday, so the tree needs to be stripped by 6am on that day, so we’ll make a “thing” of putting the decorations down, probably with some Big Bad Voodoo Daddy playing...!

Why is it cheaper to buy a new printer than to buy ink refills? Also, why is the old 2019 thread still open?!

I can buy the same model of printer (Canon PIXAR MG3650) for £30, cheapest set of cartridges I could find were 35.99...
