I am not a genius on winter plants myself ..as you know all my plants dissapear for the winter..but last september i bought some winter pansys to put in a hanging basket to brighten a wall up for the winter..and guess what they flowered from september last year and are just dieing off now..still some flowers on though..i put them up a south wall and kept feeding them and i guess you can get some ivy to dangle in with them !! I dont really like pansys but its all i could find that looked cheerfull..post a question asking for winter plants ideas..some one will know..

PofS - for winter colour, search under each month i.e. January garden colour, February garden colour etc.

Members uploaded pictures of plants ablooming in each month of the year.

BTW - to all, please add to them, as the months go by.

Fancy, that looks great, all you need is a few choice trees and your jungle will mature up nicely. One plant you definitely need is more tall grasses and some bamboos. I grow Miscanthus sacchariflorus which goes from zero in March to 12 feet in August. They look beautifully architectural defoliated throughout the winter, then in feburary you harvest the canes for various purposes and off they go again. I will try an find some zero to 12 ft shots for you.

    Looks well thought out, great!
