I've had a rather pleasant day today:-

I was out early today, noticed a cheery, lemon coloured crocus in flower in a side bed and picked up a couple of gardening books from a charity shop at 50p each (bargain!).

I then went and had my nails *done* (ready for next week)

Had an "interesting" lunch experience (bit negative on the "service" part, but not to be dwelt upon because it resulted in a 'bargain' as a compromise - not to be sniffed at).

Returned to salon to have my hair *done* - flatteringly so too (if I do say so myself).

Then, had a half hour window in which to race home, quick wash and brush up before attending a work's "do". Met some charming people. Didn't over linger (wise!).

All in all a very pleasant day in a world of madness month :heehee:

Oh, and to cap it all ... no wet stuff from above to dampen any of the events of the day!

Some days, it can be wise to count ones blessings, don't you think?

What praise do you have to reflect upon, today (no matter how humble)?

I managed to get out of bed, and stayed upright and breathing all day.

Although the cliff top gardens I visited today were a bit on the sparse side, the view was worth it :)

The best part of the day was at work where one of the ladies who very very rarely strings a sentence together due to her condition, out of the blue said "thank you for looking after me":cry3:....

My boss personally acknowledged, to my face, that she is glad she hired me.

My one year old no longer has teething pain, conjunctivitis, constipation, a cold and illness from vaccinations all the same time. He's smiling again...and we're sleepin again! I feel really sorry for him sometimes, poor lad.

Poor lad. And poor you. Its horrible isn't it. Not just because you can see them clearly unwell and unhappy, but I find it scary. I think, they're tiny, how can they fight all that lurgy themselves. But somehow, thankfully, they usually do.

Absolutely. Today was, for me, a perfect example.

After spending all day at work outside in hideous weather, getting cold, wet and generally fed up, I wearily headed for home, chilled to the bone and feeling damp and dismal.

When I arrived home, Mrs. Trunky (who'd had a fairly trying day herself, dealing with thirty overactive 5 and 6 year olds) had a mug of tea and a hot plateful of egg, chips, bacon and beans ready and waiting for me. :coffee: It may not sound much, but at that moment it was just what I needed and reminded me how very lucky I am.
                              :wub2:

I'snt it good when you have a really good day? I had one today I advertised a small garden shed in Gumtree mag, yesterday tis only 2 years old, but as the hedge was dying back decided to get it replaced by a fence, Wow have quite a bit of xtra room now so can get a bigger one ,well had enquiries got messed about, so took the advert out, replaced it with more detail and a picture asked twice the price and had sold it for cash to the 1st person that replied this afternoon. :hapydancsmil:
