Definitely a phishing type of email.

 

I read about another one
Apple ID scam saying your Apple ID been compromised
Your
A scam email impersonating Apple
The email also includes a phishing link which leads to a site that tries to steal your personal data.

 

I got a similar one from a Microsoft impersonator. I haven’t been using Microsoft for over 6 months!

 

As usual the advice is to report these Emails to the company they are impersonating.

 

Just had that Email again. Reported to
[email protected]-inc.com.

 

Worth mentioning that its too easy to get caught out as many laptops do have web cams built in, but folk think because they are not using its Off, but the hackers/scammers can remotely activate it without you knowing !
Ours actually has a physical shutter to block the camera, if yours doesn't worth putting a sticker over it, same goes for your mobile phones Selfie camera if you do not do a lot of video calls etc.

When you see just how many warnings there are, both on line and on TV about Scam emails it is astonishing just how easily some people are taken in.

The address of the sender is definitely not Screwfix.

Todays Scam attempt was an Email purporting to come from a friend. It asked if we shopped at Amazon. Had this type before. The Scammer then asks you to buy a Gift voucher and promises to send the money for it.
No way would the friend in question ever make such a request.
