    Hi ,

We have a long laurel hedge down one side of the garden. The hedge grows OK in places and the leaves are green and OK, in other places the leaves turn brown and die. We went to a garden centre and they said the bush was stressed? Has anyone come accross this before - any advice is appreciated.

    Thanks

I have never had a problem with my laurel - I have never heard the word stressed used in gardening before so I haven't a clue what they would have meant - but someone on here will probably explain :thumb:

If it's stressed it's probably heard about the credit crunch:D
I posted about this and got no replies. Have the young leaves got a white, powdery look before they go brown and die?
Mine have and I think it's Botrytis. Sorry Dai, no piccies, I'm as good as you at that;)
The plants seem to have grown through it.
There doesn't seem to be a solution to it, apparently the effective chemicals have been banned:mad:
I just look on the positive side, I've only got to prune them once;)
