I would love to plant Lavatera Burgendy wine in a new border in my front Garden. Im a little concerned about the full height and spread of 8' x 5' . If this plant is hard pruned yearly will this size be contained and is it ok to prune hard back

I don`t see a problem cutting them hard back, Bally. They can get untidy otherwise.

i have a lavatera (blushing bride) and at the end of the year i really ripped into it and new leaves are starting to show now they are fantastic and trust me they take a hard prunning any time of the year and if you plant the bits you cut off they will grow no problem
