[IMG] [IMG] Hi all I recently got the free lavenders from gardeners world and just got back from holiday, they were all covered in these orange 'suckers' a bit like what you get on sweet peas. Are these a part of the plant or should I be worried? There are Munstead, pink, ice and blue (I think they have grown from the blue one- elegance sky)

Looks like Dodder to me :yikes:

Parasitic fungus, didn't know it could grow on Lavender though, usually see it on Gorse bushes.

Thanks, I've removed all the growth and cut back the lavenders to a way below any bits where it had suffocated the plant. Can't be more than a weeks growth so hopefully I've caught It in time. I've transferred the plants into another container and chucked away the old soil. Not going to risk planting them out for a couple of weeks until I'm sure its not coming back

        Yup, it's Dodder.
A parasitic plant (not a fungus).

I actually think it's quite interesting.
