Lawn after patio

    Hi
    If after i remove all the hard compacted sand and cement mix from this area which the slabs have been laid on can i lay new turf if i mix top soil with the sand and cement residue thats left or is it a total clear out and start with just top soil.

    builders yellow sand for laying bricks is no good , cement even when hardened is worse , turf for lawns is cut very thin and the roots need a good few inches of soil to root in 3 - 4 or 100mm would be ample , however sharp sand used for concreting mixed with poor soils is always an improvment as it adds to the drainage
