I am new to gardening, just moved house and inherited some neglected lawns and I am trying to get the lawns looking something like a lawn and not a patchy weed bed.
I am thinking of using Weedol lawn weed killer which I already have and then re-seed the patches and overseeding after but I can't seem to find out if this is possible and what time scale would be involved.
If anyone could advise me even if you would not recommend doing it that way it would be appreciated.

Hi Tom, take a look at some of the threads in the 'Lawns' forum and you may find what you are looking for there. If not post your questions there and somebody will help you out. :)
