    Hi everyone.
I have noticed a problem with my lawn over the past few weeks. Individual swords are developing pale white/yellow horizontal stripes!
I have maintained the lawn well I think, including scarifying in Feb, reseeeding in April/May and then feeding about 4 weeks ago. I have also bought a new cylinder mower recently and mow twice weekly. The lawn is watered virtually every day with a sprinkler system on for for at least an hour so I don't think lack of water is a problem. The lawn is growing ok however. Not sure whether to feed again even though i did this only a month ago?
    Any advice very welcome.
    Thanks

There's a garden near mine who has a decent lawn but has similar horizontal pieces randomly on it... like pieces of straw it looks like.

Hi Steviehughes, to be honest I think you're over doing things.

The weather up until recently has been very dry, you shouldn't put feed or weed killer down during times of drought. Secondly, you are probably watering to much, unless the whole lawn is fairly new (a couple of weeks old). Grass is very resilliant and if it turns brown during drought, it will still revive when it rains. I wouldn't water at all for the time being.

I had three months with next to no rain, I didn't water my lawns and they are fine. :)
