    Advice needed!
I have recently taken over an allotment that hasn't been worked for ten plus years, it had brambles which were just cut down and it is riddled with bind weed. I have built three raised beds so far and removed bind weed and brambles and used the earth to put back into the boxes. I've left an area at the bottom of the allotment where I want to lay a lawn, as I've never done this before my questions are
    1. Do I need dig up earth and get rid of bind weed before I put turf on top?
    2. Can I just level earth and put turf on?
    3. Should I lay a 'membrane'after digging down, then put earth on top and then turf?

I'd be grateful for any advice.

    Lizzy

Hi Lizzy. I'm only saying welcome not answering you lawn question, I am a gravel man.

May I suggest that you post this question in 'General gardening - Lawns'. You will definitely get an answer there. You will probably get one here but this area is really only for saying 'Hi'. A lot of the real experts don't look in here.

Hi Lizzy - my lawn is a composite of dandelions, celandines, moss and things that have grown from the spilt bird seed, so I guess I'd better not give any lawn advice!

But welcome to the site - hope you enjoy reading all the interesting stuff here. They are a great gang!
