    Dear all,
I had a nice lawn until I used Westland Lawn Feed Weed & Moss Killer about 8 weeks ago.
My lawn started to have patches of brown in various places about three weeks later.
The Affected area's is completly dead now, so I decided to returf the affected area's. When I removed the affected area's, I found that the whole area under the turf had a white substance like a powder in the soil. Can you let me know what it is and can I returf on top of it.

Sounds like you overdosed quite a lot. I'd cut off all the turf and 'powder', cultivate thoroughly to some depth (6-8 inches), then leave the soil to settle for a while. The elements will compact the soil for you with a bit of luck. The weedkiller should have leached out/ broken down in a few weeks if the soil is moist. Then you should be safe to turf again, or seed the area for a better result.

GEORGEUN, dreadful! I also think you used a wee bit too much. I had my lawn returfed in the first week of may and WHOOSH came the rains foe 3 solid weeks I have not watered it since . now I have the most purfect lawn looking lushes and very green. dont over water lawn, let the lawn soak up the the early morning dew and dont cut too low and often.
    :D
