Almost exactly a month ago I put on this post about the bare patch on my lawn banking.

    http://gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/lawns/36136-same-problem-every-summer-now-i-need-sort.html

Now i'm pleased to say after only a month, a transformation has occurred. With some grass seed, a bit of wet weather and most importantly some sieved top dressing from my compost heap..... NOT expensive bought stuff !

      Excellent result Tyke. :dbgrtmb:
It's one of the great things about gardening isn't it, the way good results can often be achieved without vast expenditure, using just a little thought, care and a bit of help from mother nature.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I'm really chuffed with the result, wouldn't have thought about putting on a layer of top dressing without the advice from this forum though.
