    Aloha

Im having my lawn relaid with turf to replace the one I inherited, which was largely moss and bare patches. The soil is very chalky (we are near Epsom Downs). Are there any specific types of turf I should be looking for? Or is it simply a question of endlessly replacing lost nutrients (for 150 odd sq metres....) once the new lawn is laid?

    Thanks

Who is laying the lawn? They can advise on the type, mostly it depends on how much shade the lawn gets - that might be the problem with the old one getting full of moss. The main thing with a new turf lawn is to water it a lot, your chalky soil will dry out very quickly so you need to keep soaking it. Don't feed it to start with.
