    i would like to know when i should mow my lawn for the first time this year
    if anyone could let me know please

    Hi Pollyanne and welcome to GC.You can mow it now if the conditions are right and the grass is not a boggy mess.You will be better off having the blades not too low for the first couple of cuts.If you go to low and scalp the grass it will look a mess and then you will encourage moss and other weeds to take hold...Good Luck

    Hi Pollyanne, i mowed someones lawn today- it certainly seems to have started growing early this year. I understand that the growing point of grass varies dependant on the time of year, so if you go too short (when the growing point is high) it shocks it quite bad and it takes a fair while to recover.Have I got this right Kandyfloss?
