I had one of those electric leaf blowers/shredders from Lidle and used it a few times ( about 6 or 7 ) over the last two years. When I was using it this Autumn, it gave up the ghost and started to billow out smoke. It went in the bin and I bought a petrol one called Echo from Gardenlines.com. It's an American brand and the power is tremendous. What a difference!!!:thumb:

I've got a Garden Vac, and don't think much of them. I prefer sweeping up and then lifting with two pieces of plywood. It's the greener option.

A petrol blower is worth the money. Echo make good blowers and hedge trimmers so it should give many years of service.

I've got an electric suck/blow one. I don't think the suction option is much use - the bag is full in no time flat. However, blowing the leaves on my gravel drive is better than raking - as the rake will always pick up half the gravel too! Not much cope once the fallen leaves are soaking wet though.

When it dies I will upgrade to a Petrol blower.

One big advantage of vacs/blowers is that some of them shred the leaves and this means they take up less space and rot down faster. Electric ones don't do well with wet leaves - I'm now an expert on this having burned out two (actually it was only one, Mrs W burned out the other!)

we have one of those suck/blow jobies and it shreds the leaves it picks up so you have an easier composting process.
So far so good, it's done the job it was bought for.

I must admit that only Himself has used it and says it does the job.
will give my comments whne I have to use it.
