    Hi All

Will it be ok to compost leaves that have had leaf miner this year, it is time for the autumn clean up and I would prefer to compost the leaves rather than put them in the refuse bin.

I have a lovely mix of grass cuttings and leaves but do not want to encourage any more damage or pests next year.

    Thanks in advance

    Dave

Should be ok for the compost if all the bugs have vanished, but if you have any doubt (and I would) then burn them

    Hi David,

It is unlikely they are will still be inside the leaves but if they are then crush them. Then you can use it for compost. They hibernate, it is thought, under the soil.
