I was thinking if we all worked a extra day for leap year for the same wage as I never got xtra in my pay packet we/I are not having a exta day as such with todays Bank Holiday as it just cancels it out.

What do you think or I am just confused

    Why

we were meant to have a xtra BH for the Queens Jubilee but we all worked the xtra day without £££ for the xtra leap year day.

So we/I havnt gained a xtra days off

If your job is salaried you in effect lose a days pay in a leap year . If your wage is calculated hourly its not a problem.
There have been a couple of articles in the paper that bank hols cost the country a lot of money and should be reduced ( I know :gaah:). Surely holidays generate money in an economy with people spending in the shops and on tourist haunts ?

Its not an extra bank holiday anyway, the government have made sure of that, just like last year.
If your contract says X amount of paid holiday per annum. that is all you get.
They make you take it out of the paid days that you are entitled to.

So its not an EXTRA day its just, "you will take one day of your holiday entitlement on that day". But where I work they have gone one stage further and made us take the whole week.
So another three wet days sitting watching the rain.

And we are supposed to be celebrating 60yrs reign of the Queen, democracy and free speech, and all that is British.
I sometimes wonder where this country is heading when the government cant actually work out whether it's an extra bank holiday or not.
