    Hi,
    First post here! Hi everyone.
We have inherited a garden with a leather Leaf Mahonia growing, well established and now approx 8ft high.
I read it could be poisonus. There is a potential of locating a veg plot near it. Will the berries/leaves falling on the soil contaminate anything growing near it? Considering potatoes in the veg plot.
    Thanks for any help

Although I've never tried them I I thought mahonia berries were edible.
Can't think it would cause a problem my self.

Yes mahonia berries are edible. Yes they are toxic in large quantities. They will not contaminate the soil or plants grown in it. Green potatoes and seed pods on potatoes are probably more toxic.

The only problem I've found with mahonia, is if you're weeding/working near one. The fallen leaves are a b*&^%!!
