We have grown some busy lizzies from seed inside and they were growing well. Since we have moved them outside, a couple of weeks ago, the top leaves have started going yellow.
Somebody has suggested they have got waterlogged in all the recent heavy rain. Is that correct? and if so is there anything we can do to recover them
    Any suggestions greatfully received

Waterlogging sounds likely. If they are still in a pot, you could put them under some sort of cover to stop them getting wetter. I like to mix compost with sand (and now soil from the garden) to aid drainage, and as Oktarins says plenty of holes in the pot and pebbles in the bottom.

But don't worry busy lizzies like more water than most plants, I can't see them sulking for long.

Some of mine have the same symptons, but not from too much water, the reason seems to be uneven fertilizer, I sprinkled bonemeal pellets in and I quess some hit one with their roots, others didn't. But may be wrong. If I remember, last year I had the same probs. but they recovered.

Mine have gone yellow two (grown from seed)! Could be too much water, I am so paranoid about my pots drying out whilst I am away that they are in water retentive compost with water retaining gell, covered by bark mulch in plastic lined containers! Perhaps I have overdone it!! I'll not water them for a few days!!
