    Hi
My leeks suffered some damage from Leek Moth, I lost loads of plants but have saved a few, I guess it is too late to sow more?

I seem to have cleared the Moths and wonder if Sulphate of Potash will help build them up??

    Thanks

    Dave

    Hi Dave.

I'd say it's way too late for sowing now. If you want more, then the best bet is to try and source some plants, maybe at a decent garden centre? As for the SoP, I don't have a clue :)

    Cheers...Freddy.

David, Sulphate of Potash is used the help plants flower and fruit. You wouldn`t use it on leeks. To encourage leaf growth, which leeks would need, you use Sulphate of Ammonia, BUT, I would suggest, you give your plants one blast with Nitrate of Soda. Do it this week and no more. Sprinkle it about the plants without letting it touch the foliage. If there is no rain within 48 hours of using the Soda, water it in.:dbgrtmb:

I agree with Dai, they need Nitrogen to boost the leaf growth.

    Hi Lads

Thanks for the replies, looks like a trip to the shops again, where is the cheapest place to get some of this stuff?
