Ive put some lemon grass in to a glass of water in the kitchen. They now have roots and started to grow, any idea the planting depth, distance and what height will they grow?

Hi, nicsdad! Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) is native to the warmer parts of Africa, Asia and Australia. They are clump forming and can reach six feet in height! [IMG] I do not think they will overwinter with you so if you have a greenhouse you will probably have to move them inside. As the leaves can be tough, these are best dried and used in teas. The white root part is best for cooking.

I have only just started one and it's growing well, in a pot with me as I don't have room for such a great clump. However, the clump where I got my roots from is not so large, perhaps only 2.5 or 3 feet tall. I sent my sister in Germany a root and she has hers in a pot outside but will take it inside in the winter.
