    Hi all.
A bit of advice required re what to do with our wee lemon tree. We put it outside a few weeks ago and it has grown new leaves. They just shot out and I'm wondering if I should cut them back to encourage more general growth? It was quite a nice shape when I bought it (from Aldi!).
    Any advice appreciated.

It does appear to be forming a strange shape.
Difficult to see where the large shoots are coming from.

I think I would be inclined to just pinch out the tips or maybe shorten the longest ones by about a third in the hope it becomes a more balanced shape.

Yes, thanks, I’m inclined towards a bit of pruning. I’ll probably do it now as opposed to waiting.

There’s an old gardening saying “growth follows the knife” meaning that pruning stimulates growth … so I would just remove the tips of the longer new shoots, and reduce the shorter shoot at the top down to three new leaves, with the aim of stimulating the top shoot to put out more new growth and even up the shape.

I’ve cut them back a bit. Thanks for the advice.
