:) We had a beautiful & very meaningful service at our local church too Woo, as some of our village youngsters are serving in Afganistan, but 2 were home & they made the service with their tributes.... God Bless All...

Very relevent Woo - thanks. I am afraid that it is all too easy for the younger generation to grow up without realising the great sacrifices made.

I stayed off church to join in the service at the Cenotaph this am. I always make a point of doing that. This year seemed even more poignant under the circumstances.

I to watched the cenataph service in HD with full surround sound.
    I felt I was there.
The moment for me was when the roll of honour was shown and the name of Mathew Hadden rolled by.
Mathew was our local soldier who died in Afganistan and I attended his funeral at York Minster.

It is at times like today that I wish we would show more support for our troops & the loved ones left behind..... Sometimes I feel ashamed of our Government's disregard for human life.... We should show our support much more as do the Canadians & Europeans, we all know the USA takes the lead for support & recognition, but we here in Britain could show very much more interest, support & emotion... Ross Kemp is not an actor I like, but we could all take a leaf out of his book for concern & compassion for the troops..... !

No prayers here, but we always watch the Remembrance service at the Whitehall Cenotaph on TV. It seems especially important this year, with the increasing deaths of the troops in Afghanistan.
